How we worked it out: full Moon is the instant the Moon’s ecliptic longitude stands 180° from the Sun’s, from Meeus’s lunar theory, the one the map draws the Moon by, checked against the U.S. Naval Observatory’s times and JPL Horizons. Names are the North American almanacs’, with the Harvest Moon the full Moon nearest the September equinox and a Blue Moon the second in a calendar month, both in UTC: a full Moon early on the 1st can fall in the month before west of Greenwich. A supermoon is a full Moon nearer than 360,000 km. Each latitude’s night runs from sunset to sunrise at Greenwich’s longitude, the night /tonight would draw there, so its times are local solar time, give or take the hour or two a time zone is off the Sun. The method and its measured error.
