History
When Lacaille broke up Argo Navis he kept the old Greek letters across the three pieces, which is why Puppis has no alpha or beta.
Look for
Naos is one of the hottest stars visible to the eye, about 40,000 °C. Binoculars find the clusters M 46 and M 47 side by side.
